Animals, animal products, reproductive products, animal by-products and wall and straw consignments to the European Union must be presented for border control. The list of products and animals subject to veterinary border control is laid down in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2007 laying down rules for the application of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards lists of animals, animal products, reproductive products, animal by-products and hay and straw to be covered official controls at border inspection posts and amending Decision 2007/275/EC.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    The operator or his authorised person shall complete part VSID-DZ OF the TRACES NT Single Sanitary Entry Document for animals or FOR products OF animal origin VSID-P I in order to notify the border inspection post of the arrival of such consignments in advance.

    The consignment shall be presented for control at the border inspection post and the operator or his authorised person shall present the accompanying documents of the consignment:

    • the original of the official certificate, the original of the official attestation;
    • accompanying documents for cargo.

    The service charge is specified in the price list.

  2. Receipt of services
    The border inspection post shall carry out veterinary border inspection of the consignment.
