The Border Management Programme in Central Asia BOMCA 10 held a regional workshop, focusing on elements of the Training of Trainer methodology on the alignment of national legislation with the provisions of HACCP standards, FAO/WHO’s Codex Alimentarius/” Food Code” requirements, and preparation for the accession to and/or implementing those standards.
The training session focused on assisting the Veterinary and Sanitary agencies, agencies which are involved in the implementation of HACCP/ Codex Alimentarius standards in import/export controls the Central Asian countries; in the assessment of trade facilitation measures; and supporting the capacity building activities in the areas covered by the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and sanitary measures, including international standards.
