Pursuant to Article 58(12) of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 on veterinary medicinal products and repealing Directive 2001/82/EC (Regulation 2029/6), all marketing authorisation holders (MAHs) should submit the annual volume of sales for each veterinary medical product (VMP) to the Union Product Database (UPD).
The deadline for submitting 2023 data is end of February 2024. This deadline will apply to all years to come. In other words, 2024 data will have to be submitted by the end of February 2025, 2025 data by the end of February 2026, etc.
The deadline for submitting 2022 sales data was 30 June 2023. However, marketing authorisation holders who have not yet done so can still submit their data and are invited to do so as soon as possible by the end of the February 2024.
Pursuant to Article 58(6) of Regulation 2019/6, all MAHs should also submit the data on the availability for VMP in each relevant Member State to the UPD.
Considering that the availability of this data to the UPD is very important to the general public, including veterinarians and animal owners, the data on the availability for each VMP should be provided to the UPD and regularly updated as soon as possible.
